Margaret Karsen

Margaret “Peg” Karsen, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away at her home on Monday, April 8, 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. A private burial will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Peg was born on January 26, 1925, to Herbert & Mable (Kemner) Kuntz in Washington D.C. In January of 1946, Peg married the love of her life, Lee H. Karsen. The two met in Washington D.C. while he was serving in the Navy Department Bureau of Ships. The two were happily married for nearly 63 years before he passed away in 2008. After moving to St. Joseph, Lee began working with his dad at Karsen Ford Motor Sales and Peg volunteered at Lakeland Hospital; she proudly donated her time for 44 years. Peg is survived by her sons, Christopher (Melanie) Karsen of Virginia Beach, VA and Jeff Karsen of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Megan and Michael; and brother, Robert Kuntz of Allentown, PA. Peg was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Mable; husband, Lee; and sister, Mary Louise Kuntz.
