Patrick Thomas Haney

Patrick Thomas Haney, 71, of Stevensville, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Stevensville. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will take place following visitation at Lincoln Township Cemetery, Stevensville. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Pat was born on May 22, 1947, to Leslie and Dorothy (Dicoslo) Haney in Benton Harbor, MI. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1966 where he played and lettered in football, basketball and track. On August 5, 1967, he married Diana Lynn Ott in Benton Harbor. Pat worked for the Herald Palladium in the press room for forty years before retiring. He was a very accomplished bowler; throughout his career he bowled 300 twice, including many games of 299 and 700 series. Pat was the President of Blossomland Bowling Association and was eventually elected into the Bowling Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed old time television shows, rooting for Notre Dame and watching his grandson, Matthew play soccer. Most of all, Pat cherished his family. Pat is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Mark) Beilman; grandchildren, Amber (Tom) Bowman, Kirk (Michele) Beilman, Morgan Beilman and Matthew Beilman; great-grandchildren, Parker Bowman and Maddox Bowman; brother, Dennis L. (Carol) Haney; nieces & nephews, Kelly Goodwin and Erica (Wayne) Augustyniak and beloved rescue dog, Freydo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Dorothy Haney and beloved wife, Diana Haney on October 20, 2018.
