Erwin Reschke

Erwin E. Reschke of Saint Joseph, Michigan was received into the arms of his heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the age of 91. He is survived by Deana, his beloved wife of 69 years, three daughters: Colleen Burt, Mary Gauthier, Jean (Gary) Callender, and four sons: Daniel (Sue), Michael (Cyndy), Mark (Stella), Matthew (Candice). Further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Ruth, and his seven siblings: George, Edward, Carl, Anna, Irene, Agnes and Hildegard. Erwin spent over 35 years in the tool and die industry at Metal Processors in Stevensville and was a life-long farmer. Raised on a farm during the great depression, he could still recall tilling fields with a horse and plow. Erwin possessed a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the outdoors, singing, playing pinochle and being with his family. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and elder for many years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, June 1, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 PM before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Erwin’s name may be made to the Blossomland Learning Center.
