Virginia's Obituary
Virginia “Ginny” Lundy, 89, of South Haven died Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home. She was born on January 26, 1923 to William and Marion Monahan in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Virginia was a graduate of Cambridge High & Latin School and the Secretarial School of Cambridge. Virginia served her country in the US Marines during World War II. Virginia married Richard Lundy on March 4, 1946 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Virginia was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC of South Haven where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 13 years. She also enjoyed knitting sweaters for church missions.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband – Richard; and brother – Howard Monahan.
Virginia is survived by her children – William Lundy of South Haven, Robert Lundy of Pullman, and Janet Lundy of Bisbee, Arizona; brother – Richard (Barbara) Monahan of Boyton Beach, Florida; sister – Mildred Heller of Lexington, Massachusetts; two grand children – Autum Lundy and Jordan Lundy; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special son – Craig Haack also survives.
Grave side services will take place Monday, October 22 at 11 AM at Chambers Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Virginia’s name to the Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum.
