Patricia Teske

Patricia A. Teske, 80, of Kalamazoo, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her home. She was born on June 23, 1932 to Hugh and Thelma (Sherwood) Burrows in South Haven, Michigan. Patricia is a 1951 graduate of South Haven High School. She enjoyed arts and crafts and Swedish weaving. Patricia worked at UpJohn Company for three years. Following raising her children she worked at Town and Country Fashions in the Maple Hill Mall for ten years. Patricia was a charter member of the Westwood Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Patricia most recently attended the 12th Street Baptist Church, and Northridge Church in Haines City, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother – Charles Burrows.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 58 years – James Teske of Kalamazoo; her children – Daniel (Lisa) Teske of Paw Paw, Sharon Hanson of Decatur, Brenda (Don) Wood of Allegan, and Karen (Ellie) Machan of Scotts, Michigan; a brother – Bruce (Verdice) Burrows of South Haven; sister – Barbara (Tom) Phillips of Dowagiac, Michigan, ten grandchildren and five great grand children.. She was affectionately known by her family as “Positive Pat.”
Visitation will be Monday, September 24, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Troy Gentz officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the 12th Street Baptist Church, 3911 S. 12th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009 or Borgess Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 348 North Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
