Frank Schaefer

Frank Andrew Schaefer, 44, of Grand Junction died Saturday, August 18 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born March 5, 1968 in Kew Gardens, New York to Frank Daniel and Jeannie (Seppala) Schaefer. Frank received his Bachelors Degree from Ferris State University and was finishing his Masters at Walden University in special education . Frank was a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He married Ann Marie Sordyl on November 5, 1994 in Flint, Michigan. Frank found a passion working with emotionally impaired children at the VanBuren ISD, Behavioral Education Center for the past 2 years. He also was the owner of the Schaefer Group Insurance Company. Frank enjoyed spending time with wife, family and friends, sailing, skiing, snow boarding and flying, he had his pilots license. Frank was a man of integrity and honor and loved by many.

He is survived by his wife – Ann Marie Schaefer of Grand Junction, Michigan. His parents – Frank and Jeannie Schaefer of Tampa, Florida. Sister and Brother in-law Lisa and Gene Gonzalez of Holland. Mother and Father-in-law – Howard and Marvis Sordyl of Flint. Sister-in-laws – Teresa and Larry Peake, Laura and Tod Sorensen and Mary Kay and Terry Howell.. Brother – in-law – David and Joanie Sordyl. Frank was adored by his many nieces and nephews– Gage, Rylee, Steven, Andrew, Jimmy, Joey, Josh, Katie, Cori, Connor, Michael, Mitchell, and Adam.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22, from 5 to 7:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Thursday, August 23, at 2:00 PM at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev.
