John's Obituary
John Earl “Sandy” Helm Sr., 68, of Bangor died Friday, August 17 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
He was born September 14, 1943 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Marjorie (Brandt) Wrzesinski. He served his country in the National Guard. John graduated from Lake Michigan College with an Associates Degree in electronics then Western Michigan University with his Bachelors Degree in Product Technology. John married Carol Munn on October 15, 1966 in Lawrence, Michigan. He worked for Adams Electronics, Pemcole and Bohn Aluminum. John was presently working at the South Haven Coil for the past 11 years. He enjoyed electronics and was a Ham Radio operator. He also enjoyed Flywheelers and his John Deer Tractors.
He is preceded in death by his father – Walter Helm and step-father – Ed Wrzesinski.
He is survived by his wife – Carol Helm of Bangor, Michigan. Two sons – John E. Helm Jr. of Lacresent, Minnesota and Scott A.(Rita) Helm of Bangor, Michigan. Grandchildren – Austin, Cameron, and Sarah. His mother – Marjorie Wrzesinski of Bangor. John is also survived by Calie his pet dog.
Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 on Thursday, August 23 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Robinson Cemetery.
