Marie Atwood

Marie Atwood, 65, of Fennville, died on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Hospice House of Holland. She was born on December 12, 1946 to Claude and Beatrice (Homaker) Henry in South Haven. Marie was a nurse’s aid at the South Haven Community Hospital where she worked in the nursery. Marie was a former member of the Free Methodist Church in South Haven. Marie enjoyed cooking, loved her grandkids, and is remembered as a strong woman.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter – Deborah Boothby; her brother – Ed Pratt; and sister – Clara Crosby.
Marie is survived by her three grand children – Tosha Hickman, Sheldon Higgins, Jr., and Gary Singer, Jr.; her brother – Robert (Faye) Henry of Flint; sister – Dorothy Hiatt of Fenville, a special niece Dale Demary of Fennville. Three great grandchildren also survive – Jaury Hickman, Amira Higgins, and Areona Singer.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at the Second Baptist Church with Pastors Dureya Gibson and Dan Farmer officiating. Visitation will be prior to the services from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at the church. Marie will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven.
