Robert James's Obituary
Robert James Henry, Sr., 83, of South Haven, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012. He was born January 4, 1929 to William and Irene (Warner) Henry in South Haven. Robert served his country in the navy during World War II. He also worked 41 years at Bohn Aluminum, was an assistant chief for the South Haven volunteer fire department, and was an original Riverbend Boat Club founder. Robert enjoyed retirement and his family.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by 3 sisters and two brothers.
Robert is survived by his wife – Valda. His children – Robert (Sue Ann) Henry of Newport, Michigan and David (Victoria) Henry of South Haven. A sister – Dorothy Otto of South Haven. 4 grand children – Robert, Stephanie, Kristina, and Joanne. And 5 great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will take place Saturday, August 4 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church of South Haven. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastors Dale Byers and Mark Congrove officiating. Robert will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township.
