Bernetta Ruth's Obituary
Bernetta Ruth McKissic, 95, of South Haven died Monday, July 16 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
She was born January 16, 1917 in Bluffton, Indiana to Munson and Ruth (Brinneman) Stout. Bernetta worked at Gilmore Department Store in Kalamazoo and for Plaza Bakery in Kalamazoo. She attended Word of Truth-Finley Faith Tabernacle in Gobles. Bernetta enjoyed working with and finishing ceramics.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Donald McKissic who died in 2002 and two sisters – Mona and Betty.
She is survived by her one son – Don McKissic of Paw Paw, Michigan. Three daughters – Patricia (Jeff) Cook of Pullman, Michigan, Sharon Felix of Kentwood, Michigan and Karell (Paul) Russell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. 8 grand children and 13 great grand children and 4 great great grandchildren also survives.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, from 5 – 7 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral serviced will begin Friday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rita Miller officiating.
