James Martin's Obituary
James Martin Sliter, 55, of Covert died of a heart attack in his home Thursday, July 12.
He was born July 9, 1957 in South Haven, Michigan to Omley and Juanita (Hopson) Sliter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Sliter and his sister Janet Sliter.
He is survived by his daughter – Amber Milton, four grand children; Devin Hanners, Justin, Haley, and Tierany Milton of Morro Bay, CA. His siblings; Joyce Heffner, Jeff Sliter, Julie and Patrick Durden and six nieces and nephews.
James, Jamie, Jim was a man of many names and characters he was full of life and wit. All that knew him knew that if you were in need of a tall tale or a bad joke or a helping hand he was there to give it to you. He was an outstanding human being full of charisma and creativity. His sanctuary was his workshop he could create and design the most anything out of the simplest items. Jamie has passed well before his time so many have been touched by him.
There will be a memorial to celebrate his life and the good times at the Benton Township Park near the St Joseph River on Aug 5 2012, please bring your fishing pole and a tall tale to share about my father.
