Dorcas Irma Stewart

Dorcas Irma Stewart, 82, of South Haven, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at South Haven Health Systems. She was born on September 5, 1929 to John and Anna (Hackbush) Seemann in Chicago, Illinois. Dorcas worked at Consumers Power Palisades Plant until her retirement. After retirement she traveled the country visiting all but one of the states. Dorcas enjoyed knitting in her free time. She often knitted items that she donated to the needy. Dorcas and her husband, George, owned and operated the Lake Inn Resort on Picture Lake. After retiring she resided in Florida until moving back to South Haven three years ago. Dorcas was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.
She is preceded in death by her husbands – George Bollnow and Dick Stewart, and siblings – Bud Seemann, Marvin Seemann, Adeline Kupec, and Ruth Mott.
Dorcas is survived by her three daughters – Claudia Epperson of South Haven, Diane (Dean) Griswold of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Barb Pollack of Corpus Christi, Texas. Two sons – David and Jim (Barb) Bollnow of Bangor. One sister – June Voss of Kankakee, Illinois. 4 grandchildren and 2 great grand children also survive.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Clint Rogas officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
