Lawrence "Pete"'s Obituary

Lawrence “Pete” Paul Peterson, 86, of South Haven died Thursday, May 31 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers, Michigan.

He was born November 2, 1925 in South Haven, Michigan to Peter M. and Lydia (Kohloff) Peterson. Pete was a South Haven High School graduate Class of 1944. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Ann Kuhn on December 29, 1951 at the First English Lutheran Church in South Haven. Pete worked for Everett Piano for 32 years as shipping and receiving supervisor. Pete then worked at Bohn Aluminum for 11 years and then DSM as a security guard retiring in 2001. Pete was an avid golfer. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his sister, Edith Besemer.

He is survived by his wife – Ann Peterson of Three Rivers, MI. Two sons – Steven Peterson of Kalamazoo, MI and Donald Peterson of Kalamazoo, MI. One daughter – Mary Ann (Alvin) Koeingsknecht of Vicksburg, MI. Two grandchildren – Andrew and Brett Koeingsknecht.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 5 at Peace Lutheran Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens. A luncheon at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Peace Lutheran Church, Southern Care Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
