Richard McCash

Richard J. McCash, 64, of Bangor passed away Sunday, May 27 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born June 7, 1947 to Lloyd and Jean (Hoiland) McCash in Cheboygan, Michigan. Richard served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Forrestal. Richard married Sue Altenburg on May 12, 1984 at the First United Methodist Church in South Haven. They were married for 28 years. He worked as a supervisor at Controlled Rubber for over 30 years and also at Paulstra in Grand Rapids for 5 years. He enjoyed walking, gardening, and watching movies. Richard loved his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by his wife – Sue. One son – Jason McCash of Saginaw, Texas, 3 daughters – Nykole (Wil) Moore of Bangor, Judy (BJ) Meyaard of Zeeland, and Sarah (Rick) Gray of Bangor. A sister – Susie (Glenn) Higgs of South Haven. A brother – Jack (Nancy) McCash of Lake City. 9 grand-children, one great grand-daughter, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Richard’s life will take place at his home on Thursday, June 7 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
