Charles Newell

Charles Newell, 85, of South Haven died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Riverside Terrace. He was born on October 2, 1926 to Albert and Barbara “Ethel” (Daris) Newell in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Charles worked for Bohn Aluminum for 24 years as a machinist before retiring in 1989.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Mildred Newell. Two daughters – Deborah Anne Redmon and Mary Jane Newell. 3 brothers – A.W. Newell, James Newell, and Marvin Newell. A sister – Louise Adams.
Charles is survived by his son – Andrew Newell of South Haven, Michigan. 3 daughters – Roxanne Johnson of South Haven, Michigan, Sarah Anne Newell of Florida, and Cindy H. Newell of Bloomingdale, Michigan. 3 brothers – Lee Newell of Leesburg, Florida, Ned Newell of Springfield, Missouri, and Ted Newell of Mt. Home, Arkansas. 2 sisters – Lois Gibson of Lacota, Michigan and Betty Lute of Mt. Home, Arkansas. 10 grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4 from 6-8 pm at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 5 at 1:00 pm at Church of Christ with Phil Johnson and Holgar Newbaur officiating. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery.
