Jimmy's Obituary
Jimmy “Homer” Holmes, Sr., 68, of South Haven passed away at his home on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
He was born on July 22, 1943 to Monroe and Lila (Jennings) Holmes in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jimmy worked at Bohn Aluminum for 28 years and Lovejoy for 5 years. Homer enjoyed drinking and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his father and by his former spouse - Audrey Holmes, a grandchild – Zachary Pietrzykowski, and sister – Betty Creameans.
Jimmy is survived by his wife – Carol Holmes. His mother – Lila Holmes of Tiptonville, Tennessee. His children – Jim (Lori) Holmes of Holland, Michigan and Sherri Wattrick of Bay City, Michigan. Two step-children – Timothy Adams of Watervliet, Michigan and Monica (David) Jensen of South Haven, Michigan. 4 Step sons also survive. Twelve grandchildren including Jimmy Holmes III, Michael Myrick, Blake Pietrzkowski, Aryanna Jackson, Sabryna Adams, Damien Hanners and Justin Hanners. A brother – Charles Holmes of Bradford, Arkansas. A sister – Glenda Yerbey of Tiptonville, Tennessee.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Cobbs officiating.
