Fannie's Obituary
Fannie Williams, 79, of South Haven, Michigan died Tuesday, January 31. She was born on September 4, 1932 to Levi and Lillie (Harrell) Simpson in Winona, Mississippi. She worked as a nurse’s assistant. Fannie belonged to Solomon’s Temple Church of God In Christ. Fannie loved to cook, she was known for her sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. She touched the lives of many thru her love and care of others. She was known as Granny Fannie to the entire community.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son – Obide Williams Jr. Her brothers – Fred Robinson and Samuel Townsend.
Fannie is survived by her children – Lillie Simpson, Walter (Christine) Simpson, Patricia Williams, and Mary (Alfred) Goodwin all of South Haven, Michigan. Ten grand children, eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Her God-son, Minister William Echols and her God-daughter, Jada Hooker. One brother, Walter Townsend and a sister, Gertrude (Arthur) Murphy both of Fort Worth, Texas.
A wake will be held Monday, February 6, from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Greater Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM at the church with her pastor, Simon Harrington bringing the eulogy.
