Dorothy E's Obituary
Dorothy E. Morehead, age 91, of South Haven died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
She was born April 1, 1920 in South Haven, MI to Stanley and Mary (Diebold) Severinghaus. Dorothy married Oliver Morehead February 21, 1942 in South Haven. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. She owned Dorothy’s Ceramic Studio.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Morehead who died in 1990, her husband Oliver “Tead” who died in 2006, and two brothers – Arnold and Gerald Severinghaus.
She is survived by one son – Leslie (Rosemary) Morehead of South Haven of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Sandra (Clare) Cargo of Decatur, Michigan. Four grandchildren – Cynthia Cargo, Kathy Cargo, Leslie Jr., and Kristina Estavilla. Three great grandchildren. One brother - Stanley Severinghaus of Saline, MI., and two sisters – Virginia Slentz of Brooksville, FL. and Norma Sherwood of Tucson, AZ.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Fisher and Rev. Harold Filbrandt officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven.
