Elizabeth's Obituary
Elizabeth A. Barner, 98, of South Haven died at South Haven Community Hospital on Saturday, October 15, 2011. She was born on April 23, 1913 in Detroit, MI to August and Emma (Brandt) Kuhn. Elizabeth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid. Elizabeth enjoyed her flower gardens especially her roses.
She is preceded in death by her husband – Pierce Barner, one sister – Leona Mitchell, two brothers – Bernard Kuhn and David Kuhn and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Barner.
Elizabeth is survived by her son – Neele (Sharon) Barner of Kalamazoo, MI, her daughter- Cheryl (Jerry) Redman of Ortonville, MI. Grandchildren – Stacey (Matthew) Jacyno, Carey (Christopher) Grimm, Gary (Angie) Barner and Heather Martell, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Clint Rogas officiating. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Paul Lutheran Church.
