Carson's Obituary
Carson Wendel Jones, 84, of South Haven died Thursday, September 29 at home.
He was born January 13, 1927 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Winfred H. and Altha (Miller) Jones. Carson graduated from South Haven High School class of 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Carson worked for Palisades Nuclear Power Plant as an iron worker retiring in 1989. Carson married Lillian E. Randall on May 2, 1953 at the South Haven First Congregational Church. He enjoyed attending his son's athletic events. Carson loved to read about Frank Lloyd Wright and visiting his homes, and vintage cars. Carson was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Haven.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters – Marian Taft and Ardis Hope.
He is survived by his wife – Lillian Jones of South Haven, Michigan. One son – Clark (Kimberly) Jones of Rochester, Minnesota. Two grandchildren – Dakota and Cheyenne Jones. Two nephews – Gary (El) Taft and David (Vickie) Hope. One niece – Ellen (Don) Hartsfield. Great nephew – Matt Hope also survives.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 22 from 10 – 11 at the First Congregational Church. Memorial services will begin Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for an Education Fund for his grandchildren, checks can be made to Waddell and Reed c/o Steve Ferrell, 2720 Superior Drive NW, Rochester, MN 55901 in the memo please put for Dakota and Cheyenne's college fund.
