Rita's Obituary
Rita Althea Wenban, 85, of Grand Junction died Wednesday, September 28, at South Haven Health System.
She was born July 11, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter John and Margaret (Meager) Bunyea. Rita lived in the Chicago area in her younger years. Rita married Charles Wenban in October 15, 1946. Rita worked at Bangor Coil and as a sorter for Fennville Canning Factory. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and baking especially bread.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Charles Wenban who died in 1992. Three sisters - Bernice Feltmann, Loretta Sheehan-Troy and Marie Bennett. One brother – John Bunyea Jr.
She is survived by two sons – Richard (Kathleen) Wenban of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Larry Wenban of Bangor, Michigan. Three daughters – Margaret Montgomery, Linda Wenban and Phyllis Wenban Nelson all of Grand Junction, Michigan. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter also survives.
Visitation will be Friday, September 30, from 6 - 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 1, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Hollebrands officiating. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
