William Ward's Obituary

William Ward Iliff, 72, of South Haven died Wednesday, September 21 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

He was born January 26, 1938 in Alden, Michigan to Leonard Thomas and Velma Ardell (Bybee) Iliff. William served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. William married Norma McCoy on September 23, 19 84 at the First Baptist Church of South Haven. He worked for Taylor Control in South Haven for several years. Most recently he was the Bridge Tender for the South Haven’s Dyckman bridge. William was a member of the American Legion Post #49 and was a former Commander. William loved his little dog – Max and fishing and was active at the American Legion.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother – Robert Iliff.

He is survived by his wife – Norma Iliff of South Haven, Michigan. Two children – Billy Iliff of Vermont and Cindy Iliff of New Orleans, Louisiana. Step-children – Billy Baker of Bangor, Michigan and Kim Newell of South Haven, Michigan. Several grandchildren. One brother – Edward Iliff of Oklahoma also survives.
