Wilma's Obituary
Wilma Zoet, 92, of South Haven passed away Monday, September 19 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven.
She was born January 28, 1919 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Edward and Mary (Timmer) DeVries. Wilma married Herman Zoet. She worked at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids in the food service department for many years. Wilma enjoyed sitting in the sun, swimming, going out to eat, and the senior group at Hope Church , Onward Fellowship.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Herman Zoet who died in 1995. Siblings – Nicholas DeVries, Rein DeVries, Richard DeVries, Bertha Sundstrom and Bert DeVries. Son-in-law – Don Burchfield also precedes her.
She is survived by her two daughters – Joyce Weber of South Haven, Michigan and Marilyn Burchfield of Caledonia, Michigan. Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. One sister – Hilda Roede of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21 from 5 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Reformed Church with Rev. Curry Pikkaart officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery in Standale, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Church.
