Margaret's Obituary
Margaret Greiffendorf, 92, of Grand Junction died Saturday, August 6 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven.
She was born October 11, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Ambrose and Rosalia (Kopfer) Konrath. Her husband Julius has been waiting for her in Paradise since October of 1999.
This loving couple called Grand Junction home. They arrived as newlyweds in 1938 and they built several business and a loving home for two sons. Marge created a lovely flower garden in a sandy waste land. She became an award winning artist in oil painting and kept a beautiful home.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Julius Greiffendorf. Nine siblings – Michael, Ambrose, Joseph, Johanna (Jean), Anna, Elizabeth, Josephine, Dorothy, and Irene. Daughter-in-law – Lois Greiffendorf and great grandson – Gregory Harris.
She is survived by her sons – Julius “Butch” (Diane) Greiffendorf and Tom Greiffendorf both of Grand Junction. grandchildren – Rick Greiffendorf of Breedsville, Michigan and Clay (Janis) Greiffendorf of Saginaw, Michigan, Sister Mary Agnes O.P. (Hilary) of Nashville, Tennessee, Rachel Greiffendorf of Grand Junction, Michigan, and Lauren (Mike) Harris of Grand Junction, Michigan. Great grandchildren – Daniel, Ricky, Brenden, Gianna, Abigail and Brigid. Her devoted sister – Rose Gordon of South Haven, Michigan.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 27 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Grand Junction Cemetery. Everyone is invited to a luncheon at Columbia Township Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to South Haven Hospice at Home, 05055 Blue Star Hwy. South Haven, Michigan 49090.
