Winnifred LaFever

Winnifred G. LaFever, 94, of South Haven, died on June 24, 2011 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born on July 30, 1916 in Lansing, Michigan to Ira and Genevieve (Bennett) Mills. Winnifred worked for many years as a bakery worker. She was a life long active member of the First Baptist Church of South Haven. Winnifred volunteered 14 summers at the American Baptist Assembly in Green Lake, Wisconsin.

She is preceded in death by her 1st husband – Harold W. Reinhardt in 1945 and her 2nd husband – Chester H. LaFever in 1969. One brother – Jarvis Mills in 2011.

Winnifred is survived by her daughter – Sandra (William) French of Holland, MI. and one son – Dennis (Shirley) Reinhardt of South Haven, MI. 5 grandchildren – Beth Webster, Wendy Dubuisson, Tracy Heinze, Melissa Cosby and Jennifer Oliver. 12 great-grandchildren also survive. One sister – Mina Bodfish and one brother – Clair Mills both of South Haven, MI.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 28, from 1-2 pm at First Baptist Church of South Haven, funeral service will begin at 2 pm with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or American Cancer Society. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
