Raymond's Obituary

Raymond Giegerich, 85, of South Haven died on June 19, 2011 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born on February 3, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Marguerite (Wimble) Giegerich. Ray worked as chief engineer at Lovejoy until his retirement in 1999. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a life member of the American society of Mechanical Engineers, Star of the Lake Masonic (Past Master) Old Glory Lodge in Chicago, Illinois.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his wife – Lois Giegerich in 1999 and one son – David Giegerich in 2010.

He is survived by his daughter – Elisabeth Giegerich of South Haven, Michigan, two
sons – Stephen (Olivia) Giegerich of St. Louis, Missouri and Andrew (Beth) Giegerich of Portland. Three grandchildren also survive. One sister – Peggie Webster of Chicago, Illinois and his dear friend – Sally Watson of South Haven, Michigan.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22 from 6 – 9 pm at the Giegerich home in South Haven. Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 23 at 1:30 pm at First United Methodist Church of South Haven, Michigan with Rev John Fisher officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiner’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, First United Methodist Church or Al-Van Humane Society.
