Judith Lynne Marten

Judith Lynne Marten, 65, of Fennville passed on to a better place where welcoming arms and wagging tails awaited her. She died Monday, April 11 at Holland Hospital with loved ones at her bedside.

She was born July 3, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph Howard and Alice Elaine Helen Margarette (Tobin) Valliere. She graduated from Osborn High School in Detroit, Class of 1963 and then attended Michigan State University. Judith married Gary Marten on March 6, 1970 in Gross Pointe Farms, Michigan. Judith worked as a realtor, mortgage broker, was also a fruit farmer. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and was the best joke teller.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter – Vanessa Marten.

She is survived by her husband – Gary Marten of Fennville, Michigan. Two daughters – Melanie (Jon) Ruppert of South Haven, Michigan and Mikala (Douglas) Evans of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Four grandchildren – Kaitlynn Evans, Danielle Evans, Rhys Ruppert, and Rafe Ruppert. One brother – Charles (Evelyn) Valliere of McComb Twp., Michigan.

Visitation will be Friday, June 24 from 5:30 – 8:00 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 25 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Julie Cowie officiating. Family and friends will gather at Hawkshead Restaurant for food and fellowship from 2 – 4:30 following the service.
