John J.'s Obituary
John Oliver, 81, of South Haven died Thursday, March 31 at home.
He was born March 27, 1930 in Milan, Tennessee to Robert Lee and Martha Elwayne (Osborne) Oliver. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He married June Smith.
John worked as a custodian for the Covert Public Schools for 15 years.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – June Oliver who died in 1996 and daughter – Lorna Howell and granddaughter – Alexas Leverton.
He is survived by his two sons – Johnny L. (Sherry) Oliver of Covert, Michigan and William Patrick (Debbie) Oliver of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Vicky (Leonard) Dean of Little Rock, Mississippi. 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Two sisters – Carol (Carl) Winch and Cathy (Bert) Saye both of Denver, Colorado.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Langston officiating.
