Willis "Bill"'s Obituary

Willis “Bill” Edward Hodge, 84, of Bloomingdale, formerly of South Haven, died Tuesday, March 29 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born October 29, 1926 in South Haven, Michigan to Walter and Mable (Brown) Hodge. Bill served his country in the U.S. National Guard. Bill married Mary Lou Wearne on September 13, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Bill worked for Everett Piano Company for 31 years. He also worked for Baker Furniture for 10 years retiring in 1989. Bill enjoyed bowling, golfing, bingo, and outdoor sports. Bill was a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge #697 in South Haven and a long time member of Cheshire Hills Golf Club.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his siblings – John Hodge, Ruth Bus, and Irene Neale.

He is survived by his wife – Mary Lou Hodge of Bloomingdale, Michigan. 2 sons – Bill (Karla) Hodge of Vicksburg, Michigan and Larry (Mary) Hodge of Farmington, Minnesota. 7 grandchildren – Ed Hodge, Shannon (Michael) Mannie, Jason Hodge, Joe Hodge, Scott Hodge, Thomas Decker, Jessica Hodge. 7 great grandchildren – Kaila, Jenna, Nick, Krystal, Devin, Gavin, and Brailyn Hodge. One sister – Clara Barkozis of Cowden, Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Friday, April 1 from 11 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Filbrandt officiating.
