Jane Johnson

Jane Johnson, 76, of South Haven, Michigan, died Tuesday, March 29 at Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

She was born April 13, 1934 in Cascilla, Mississippi to Lincoln and Willie (Taylor) Love. Jane married William H. Johnson on December 13, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a Seamstress in the Chicago area for the Universal Hat and Cap Company for 26 years retiring in 1980. She also worked at the South Haven Econolodge in housekeeping for over 10 years. Jane was a member of the South Haven Community Church.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – William H. Johnson who died in 1994. Two sisters - Rosemary Kirk, Olivia Collins. One brother - Foke (Billyred) Love.

She is survived by her children – Gertrude Brown of Chicago, IL, Carolyn Tucker of Hendersonville, TN, Helen Cephus of Oak Park, IL, Marilyn Smith of Murphysboro, TN, Jeffrey Tucker of Louisville, KY, and Jarvis Johnson of Hendersonville, TN. 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 7 siblings – Lincoln Love Jr, Betty (Lee) Wilson, Estella (Earl) Thomas, Willie (Mona) Love, Kathrine Hopkins, Roosevelt Love, and Bryant Love. A very special friend – Bessie Banks of Chicago, IL also survives.

Wake will be from 10 – 11 on Monday, April 4 at the South Haven Community Church.
