Caroline Efua's Obituary
Caroline Efua Graham, 75, formerly of Covert, Died Saturday, March 5 in Franklin, Tennessee. She was born on October 4, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois.
She is preceded in death, by her mother Ollie Bell Tillman, stepfather John Tillman, her Uncle James "Buddy" Miller, her father Joseph Travis Sr. her sisters, Pearl Smith and Marie Chandler, her brother Joseph Travis Jr., husband Norman Graham and daughter, Vietta Lynn Graham. Caroline is survived by daughters Nora "Peggie" Graham and Najima Graham, grandson Danladi Graham, step sister Shirley Miller(Wes), step brother Henry Tillman, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Caroline Graham was a cherished friend, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She graduated from Lucy Flower High School in Chicago 1953, where she was voted as "most beautiful" in her class. She subsequently got married and gave birth to three daughters.
Caroline started her higher education in her early 40's. She attended Lake Michigan College and obtained an Associate Degree in Social Science. Afterwards, she attended Western Michigan University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Social Science. She was employed as a Social Worker for the State of Michigan. Her occupation was no surprise because she was a giving, caring and loving woman. She loved learning. She continued to further her education after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree.
Caroline was an honest and charming person with a vibrant sense of humor. This was evident by the warm reception she was given by perfect strangers.
Of the many things Caroline enjoyed in life, she particularly enjoyed reading, painting, knitting, music, cooking, and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank all of you for your expressions of love and kindness during our time of grief.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the kind caretakers that have assisted her during her time of need.
We now say so long to a beautiful spirit.
Wake will be Sunday, March 13 from 1 – 2 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Covert Cemetery. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
