Robbie Sconyers

Robbie L. Sconyers, 93, of South Haven, Michigan died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at South Haven Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

She was born on June 16, 1917 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Will and Lela (Burton) McFarland. Robbie worked in hospitals as a nurse aid in the Chicago area for many years.

Robbie moved to South Haven in 1974. She was a member of the South Haven First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph E. Sconyers who died in 1975; her son, Joseph A. Sconyers; one brother, Henry McFarland; one sister, Thelma Harris, “Sister,” and a daughter-in-law, Mary Sconyers (Tiny).

Robbie is survived by her daughter, Nedra Anderson of Des Plaines, Illinois; son, Lynn Earl Sconyers of Tacoma, Washington; eleven grandchildren (Inez, Greg, Reyna, Rona, Karen, Inga, Lynn, Walter, Steve, Tony, and Vladimir); seven great grandchildren; one sister, Frankie Blackmon of South Haven; several nieces (Nancy, Joletta, and Carolyn) and nephews (Darcy, Dale, and Brian); a great cousin (Wanda), and a daughter-in-law (Barbara Sconyers).

Wake will be from 12PM – 1PM on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Immediately following the wake, funeral services will be held at 1 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Rev. John Fisher will be officiating the services. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
