Roland Bradley's Obituary
Roland Bradley King, 89, of South Haven died Wednesday, January 19 at the Hospice House of Holland.
He was born June 29, 1921 in Lacota, Michigan to Bert and Mary A. (Baker) King. Roland graduated from Bangor High School in 1939. Roland served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Helen Rohrbeck on March 5, 1948, after her passing her married Betty Platko on December 1, 1984. Roland worked for National Motors as a supervisor for 36 years retiring in 1977. Roland was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his first wife – Helen King who died in 1984 and his second wife - Betty King in 2003. One sister – Nettie Matthews and two brothers – Howard and Joseph B. King.
He is survived by his son – David (Karen) King of South Haven, Michigan. Three grandchildren – Cati King, Sarah (Jessie) Keeton and Christie Gray. Two great-grandchildren – Alexander and Jordan Gray. One sister – Mary Ufkin of Minneola, Minnesota.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 on Friday, January 21 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Filbrandt officiating. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Al-Van Humane Society.
