Johanna's Obituary

Johanna Wrzesinski, 100, of South Haven died Thursday, November 18 at South Haven Community Hospital.

She was born December 20, 1909 in Chicago, Illinois to Vincent and Mary Ann (Borecka) Koc. Johanna married Edward Wrzesinski on March 14, 1942.
Johanna worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed weaving rugs, place mats, and decorative hangings. Johanna was a member of the Weavers Guild of Kalamazoo. She was always busy. Johanna was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church. Johanna loved to travel. She was able to travel to such locations as Ireland, Australia, New Zeeland and all over Europe. Johanna lived in Poland for 10 years from 1919 to 1929.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Edward Wrzesinski who died in 1988. Her brother – Harry Koc also precedes her.

She is survived by her daughter – Anne (John) Hackett of East Lansing, Michigan and her niece – Carol Partington of Schaumburg, Illinois, other nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be from 3-6 on Sunday, November 21 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Father Jim Sheridan officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven.
