Rose Pressley

Rose Elizabeth Pressley, 80, of Bangor died Saturday, November 13, at home. Due to a fall at her home on November 10.

She was born January 22, 1930 in Lexington, Kentucky to Jesse and Marinda (King) Hill. Rose married James Pressley on December 3, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. Rose worked as a waitress and cook at Walgreen’s in Lexington, Kentucky. Rose moved to Michigan in 1968 and worked for Adams Electronics in Bangor for a few years. Rose also ran an adult foster care home in South Haven for 5 years. Rose liked to sew, read, do crossword and word search puzzle books. Rose loved the Lord, her family and friends with open arms and will be missed very deeply.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James Pressley who died in 1982. Her daughter – Monica Pressley Cummins in 2002, great grandson – Caden Angel in 2009 and 2 brothers – Fred and Jesse Hill.

She is survived by 3 sons – Jerome Pressley and Jay Pressley both of Bangor, Michigan and Charles Pressley of South Haven, Michigan. 2 daughters – Marinda Diane King of Decatur, Michigan and Pauline Pressley of Pass Christian, Mississippi. 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She loved her great grandchildren Skyler and Hanna and thought of them often.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17 from 6-8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Dunn officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
