Diane's Obituary
Diane (Strickland) Buchanan, 56, of Covert departed this life on September 24, 2010.
She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on May 26, 1954, to Delores Venice Strickland and was helped raised by Annais GreenBey. She attended elementary and middle school in Chicago. She graduated from South Haven High School.
Diane was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Covert, where she served as an usher. She really enjoyed spending time with family, friends, shopping, fishing, and bingo. Diane worked at Sleepy Hollow for many years until she changed her job career over to machine operator at several factories, until the Lord called here home.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Venice Strickland, and stepfather, Annais GreenBey, grandmother, Hattie May, grandfather, Cecil Reynolds, her aunt, Joyce Norris, and nephew, Carl Lee Strickland.
Diane leaves to mourn her loving husband, James T. Clifton Buchanan of 13 years; mother-in-law, Rennie Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Diane, Cotera. She leaves three stepdaughters, Barbara of California, Michelle and Yvette Buchanan; a stepson, James Buchanan Jr. of Chicago; and six grandchildren.
Diane is leaving behind five brothers – James (Lula) of Crete, Ill., Daryle (Karen) of Big Rapids, Mich., Anthony (Anita) of Farmington Hills, Mich., Michael (Teresa) of Allegan, Harvey GreenBey of Holland, Mich., her sisters – Janice (Larry), Dorothy (Ezell), both of Covert, Shirley GreenBey of South Haven; one aunt, Charlene and uncle Sebron Floyd of Pittsburgh, Pa., uncle, Robert Norris of Covert, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 2 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Henry Allen Officiating.
