Mary Kathryn Thompson

Mary Kathryn Thompson, 97, of South Haven Michigan died Saturday, September 4th at her home.

She was born on June 4, 1913 in Paris, Tennessee to James and Lennie (Boyd) West. Mary worked for the SE Overton Company as a spray painter for over thirty years. She retired in 1963. Mary then worked at Murphy’s Department Store in South Haven. Mary was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in South Haven. She also was a member of the Visually Impaired Group and the South Haven Quilters Club. Mary was a volunteer for the South Haven Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ozie Thompson, her son, Paul Thompson, and her sister, Iiram Williams.

She is survived by her son Jim (Anna) Thompson. Fourteen grandchildren, and fourty-two great grandchildren, thirty great great grandchildren and her sister, Orell McCann of Selmer, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8, from 6-8 PM and the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Thursday September 9, at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Haner officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
