Darrell Eugene's Obituary
Darrell Eugene Butts, 75, of South Haven died Sunday, August 15 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born August 13, 1935 in Salem, Illinois to Ben and Grace (Copple) Butts. He married Leona McWhorter on July 16, 1959 in Effingham, Illinois. Darrell worked for John Bowes Factory in Effingham, Illinois as a machine operator. He also worked for Sleigh Furniture in Holland, Michigan. Darrell enjoyed riding his bicycle, walking, and mowing lawns for others. He was also a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother – Harold Butts and two sisters – Roshell West and Adell Roades.
He is survived by his wife – Leona Butts of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Shirley (Jeff) Neigh of Grand Junction, Michigan and one son – Gene (Pattie) Burkhart of Florida. One brother – Glenn Butts of St. Peter, Illinois. Two sisters – Edna Hiecker of South Carolina, and Wanda Osterholtz of Clarksville, Tennessee. Four grandchildren – Rick Butterworth, David Butterworth, April Mokma and Tiffany Mokma. Seven great grandchildren - Devin, Marissa, Ricky Jr., Sha, Teylur, Zamarra, and Nariah.
Visitation will be from 6 – 7 on Tuesday, August 24 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with a memorial services beginning at 7:00 P.M. Pastor Steve Starks will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Burial will take place at Loy Praire Cemetery in Watson, Illinois.
