Ruth's Obituary
Ruth Franklin Roe, 85, of South Haven died Saturday, July 31 at home.
She was born February 26, 1925 in Trenton, Michigan to Frank J. and Mattie (King) Franklin. Ruth graduated from South Haven High School in 1942. She married Richard M. Roe on February 1, 1944 in South Haven. Ruth worked for the S.E. Overton Company, Bohn Aluminum and the First Baptist Church as a secretary. Ruth played the piano, organ and accordion. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Richard who died in October of 1994. Three sisters – Annie Costas, Verna Srb and Dixie Mescher. Two brothers – Frank Franklin Jr. and Phillip Franklin also precedes her.
She is survived by two children – Sheila (Thomas) Heiser of Grand Junction, Michigan and Mitchell Roe of South Haven. Two grandchildren – Kyle and Aaron Roe. Special son – Douglas & Beverly Scherer and family of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will take place Wednesday, August 11, at 1:00 P.M. at Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Harold F. Filbrandt Officiating.
