Lloyd's Obituary
Lloyd Bailey, 63, of Covert died Monday, May 17 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born January 21, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Lloyd and Georgia Anna (Hawkins) Bailey Sr. Lloyd graduated from Covert High School in 1967. Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a certified nurse’s aid and was an EMT Assistant for the Chicago Fire Department. Lloyd also worked as a bank teller for First National Bank in Chicago. Lloyd came back to the Covert area in 1995. Lloyd then worked at South Haven Health Care Center and Countryside Nursing Home for 2 years. Lloyd loved to play bingo and was a great organist playing at many churches in the South Haven and Covert areas.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by 3 brothers – Alfred, George and Gregory Bailey.
He is survived by his siblings – Mary (Arthur) Haywood of Covert, Michigan, Georgette Simpson of Chicago, Illinois, Russell Bailey of South Haven, Michigan, Sandra Swans of Holland, Michigan and Claudette Smith of Chicago, Illinois.
Wake will be from 11 – 12 on Saturday, May 22 at the Covert Community Church.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday at the church with Pastor Beverly Smith officiating. Burial will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
