Hiram "Ham"'s Obituary
Hiram “Ham” James Hills, 79, of South Haven died Monday, April 5 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven.
He was born December 14, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan to Edwin and Eva Hills. He married Sylvia Fenton on August 16, 1952.
Hiram worked as a foreman for Bohn Aluminum for 25 years retiring in 1995. Hiram enjoyed golfing and bowling. He bowled the first 300 game at Melody Lanes now Lakeside Lanes. He also invented and patented the “Ham’s Burger Thing” Spatula.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife Sylvia who died in 2008 and 2 brothers.
He is survived by two daughters – Gwen Hills of Bangor, Michigan and Beth Hills of South Haven, Michigan, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one uncle – Walter Sheler of Anderson, Indiana also survives.
Visitation will be Friday, April 9 from 12 – 1 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Memorial services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the church with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating.
