William Harrison Mitchell Jr.

William Harrison Mitchell Jr, 72, of Bangor died Wednesday, March 31 at home.

He was born July 10, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to William Harrison Mitchell Sr. and Edna (Robinson) Tucker. William served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. William married Mary Partee on January 23, 1975 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He worked as a truck driver for Bongi Trucking for 8 years; he also was a school bus driver for Bangor and Covert Public Schools. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and watching Westerns on TV and was also a handy man. William was a member of the Jesus Lives Here Church of God in Christ in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

He is preceded in death along with his father by one son – Gary Mitchell. Four brothers – Albert, Fred, Jerry and Leonard. One sister – Mary Alice Williams.

He is survived by his wife – Mary Mitchell of Bangor, Michigan. Children – Edna Mitchell of Sallisaw, OK, Renee Alexander of Grand Rapids, MI, Keith Partee of Ionia, MI, Linda Johnson of Chicago, IL, Cassandra Burks of Detroit, MI, Eric Partee of Kalamazoo, MI, Jennifer Partee of Bangor, MI, Natasha Mitchell of Grand Rapids, MI, Shawn Partee of Grand Rapids, MI, Elizabeth Mitchell of Sallisaw, OK and Kevin Partee of Kalamazoo, MI. Mother – Edna Tucker of Oklahoma. Siblings – Marion Tucker, Charles Tucker, Ellen Ash, Bernita Tucker, Rennita Burley, Diania Bond, Vora Montgumery, Cassandra Mitchell and Barbara Travis.

Wake will be from 10 – 11 on Thursday, April 8 at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Ebenezer Spencer officiating.
