Dixie Lee's Obituary
Dixie Lee McDonald, 76, of South Haven died Thursday, January 14 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
She was born October 26, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Virginia (West) Eikoos Sr. Dixie married Marshall Balke and after his death married John McDonald. Dixie was a homemaker and mother. She loved to garden and read. Dixie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband – Marshall Balke who died in 1965 and her second husband – John McDonald who died in 1990.
She is survived by her children – Frank (Mary Pat) Balke, Tom Balke, Dale Balke and Marsha Balke all of South Haven, Michigan and Keith (Deanie) Balke of Glendale, Arizona. Ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 17 from 3 – 4 at the His Place Cathedral of Faith in Covert. Funeral services will begin Sunday at the church at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Wayne Davis officiating.
