Bette Ruth's Obituary

Bette Ruth Lang, 82, of South Haven died Thursday, December 3 at South Haven Community Hospital.

She was born September 30, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry Adolph and Mary Agnus (Nelsen) Nelson. Bette graduated from South Haven High School in 1945. She married Herbert William Lang . Bette worked as a bookkeeper for Hales Department Store. Bette enjoyed bowling and bowled on local leagues. Bette enjoyed painting landscapes for herself, family and friends. She had a great deal of fun going to casinos with Jack and her daughter and husband. When she was able, Bette attended the First United Methodist Church of South Haven. Bette was a member of the Our Town Players where she was an actress and served on the board.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Herbert William Lang who died in 1971 and son William Lang in July 2009.

She is survived by Two sons –Timothy Lang of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Christopher Lang of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Jonni Beth (Larry) Mawson of Stewart, Florida. Seven grandchildren – Timothy, Thomas, Katherine, Gabriel, Ariel, Sarah and Samuel. One brother – Ronald Nelson of Tavernier, Florida and one sister – Doris (Tom) Thomson of South Haven, Michigan. Very close friend – Jack Fennel of South Haven also Survive.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 16 at 4:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
