Betty's Obituary
Betty Thurber, 97, of South Haven died Monday, November 23, 2009.
She was born October 3, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Anna (Mertel) Freyanek. Betty married John Thurber in 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. They resided in Nova Scotia, Canada and Coloma, Michigan before retiring in South Haven, Michigan. She also enjoyed dancing the polka, spending time with family, and good food.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband – John Thurber who died in 1991, and a sister Ann Migatz.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (William) Odebrect of South Haven, MI, one grandson- Andrew Odebrect of Goshen, Indiana, and a sister Mildred Duering of Coloma, MI., one nephew Wayne Duering of Southfield, MI., and one niece Marylyn Osgood of Coloma, Mi.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with Mr. Wayne Balser officiating. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
