John's Obituary
John Sullivan Hodges, 65, of Covert died Tuesday, October 27 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born June 21, 1944 in Lexington, Mississippi to Albert and Frankie (Young) Hodges. John worked as a handyman and did odd jobs on the farm and construction sites throughout the area. John enjoyed gambling, dice games and shooting pool. He also liked to teach people to gamble.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Alberty and Frankie Hodges, his brother – Albert Hodges Jr. and two sisters – Louise Hardin and Wilma Reed.
He is survived by two sisters – Frieda Brown of Covert, Michigan and Frankie Willis of Chicago, Illinois. Four nieces and two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Wake will be Monday, November 2, from 12 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Henry Allen officiating.
