Georgia's Obituary
Georgia Anna Bailey, 83, of Covert died Tuesday, October 13 at Watervliet Community Hospital.
She was born March 22, 1926 in Kruger, Mississippi to Aaron and Mary Alice (Freeman) Hawkins. Georgia married Lloyd Bailey Sr. She worked for VanBuren County, Commission on Aging. She also worked as a case worker for Tri Cap. Georgia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covert.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Lloyd Bailey Sr. who died in 1990. 3 sons – Alfred Bailey, George and Gregory Bailey. 3 grandchildren – Lawrence, Charles Bailey and Britton Haywood. Sister – Rosalee Webb, God Child – Peggy Newman.
She is survived by 6 children – Lloyd Bailey of Covert, Michigan, Mary (Arthur) Haywood of Covert, Michigan, Georgette Simpson of Chicago, Illinois, Russell Bailey of South Haven, Michigan, Sandra (Eddie) Swans of Holland, Michigan and Claudette Smith of Chicago, Illinois. 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Wake will be Saturday, October 17 from 10 – 11 at the First Baptist Church in Covert. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church with Pastor Adrian Massenburg officiating.
