Hyman's Obituary
Hyman Price, 86, of South Haven died Friday, October 2 at his home.
He was born August 3, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Sam and Anna (Pristoop) Price. Hyman graduated from South Haven High School in 1941. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Hyman married Estelle Chiz on October 14, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Hyman worked for the U.S. Postal service as Postal Supervisor until 1988. Hyman was a member of the American Legion #49.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by two sisters.
He is survived by his wife – Estelle Price of South Haven, Michigan. Three sons – Louis (Susan) Price of Lawton, Michigan, Harold (Amy) Price of Ortonville, Michigan and Stuart (Jenny) Price of South Haven, Michigan. Seven grandchildren –Rachel, Sam (currently serving in Afghanistan) Sarah, Tyler, Jessica, Ashley and Hannah. One great grandchild – Gabriel. One sister - Lillian Reich of Skokie, Illinois also survives.
Funeral services and burial will be Monday, October 5 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Hebrew Congregation Cemetery in South Haven with Kenneth Hollander officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The First Hebrew Congregation or South Haven Hospice at Home. Shiva will be sat Monday – Wednesday at the Price home.
