Doris's Obituary
Doris Elizabeth (Sullivan) Main, 82, of South Haven died on Wednesday, August 5 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Doris was born on August 18, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Timothy Edward “Ed” and Blanche (Lucia) Sullivan. Doris attended Cooley High School in Detroit, Michigan. She married George Main on June 21, 1946. They owned and operated Main’s Party Store in Detroit for many years. Doris was a lifelong member of the Republican National Central Committee. Doris love to read and enjoy gardening. She was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by one brother – Tim Sullivan. One granddaughter – Carli Cullen and one grandson – Joe Campbell.
Doris is survived by her husband – George Main of South Haven, Michigan Three daughters - Patricia and Hilda Main of Bangor, Michigan, Suzanne (Benno) Trenkle and Sandra Main and Rodney Tolbert both of South Haven, Michigan. One son - Michael (Brenda) Main of South Haven, Michigan. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:30 on Friday, August 7 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at St Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Educational Endowment Fund.
