Edith's Obituary
Edith Langston, 95, of South Haven died Tuesday, April 16 at home.
She was born April 13, 1914 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Will and Gertrude (Proyeor) Foster. Edith married Louis Langston in 1931. She worked as a house keeper in private homes. She also worked for several years for Jack Lange at Jack’s Vogue. Edith was a member of the Resurrection Life Church on Blue Star Highway. Edith was a great church worker and a Mother of the Church. Edith was a very giving person with a big heart.
She is preceded in death along with his parents her husband – Louis Langston who died in 1994. Three sons – Charles and Joe Langston and Willie Foster. One daughter – Anna Ruth Lipsey. Brother – John Foster also precedes her.
She is survived by her son – Edwin Lamar Langston of Muskegon, Michigan.
Two daughters –Juanita Jones of Covert, Michigan and Shirley Singleton of South Haven, Michigan. Many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. One brother –Preston Foster of Jamaica Queens, New York and Two sisters – Roberta Japor of Chickamauga, Georgia and Lucy Mae Weathers of Michigan City, Indiana.
Wake will be Friday, April 24 from 12 – 1 at the Greater Pentecostal Temple of God in Christ Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Joe Wilkins officiating.
